Barclays Center in Brooklyn

The Barclays Center in Brooklyn is an indoor arena used for sports games, concerts and other events in New York. It’s the home stadium of the Brooklyn Nets, a basketball team that plays in the NBA, and the New York Liberty, a women’s basketball team from the WNBA. The Barclays Center also serves as the venue for many concerts. This indoor arena in New York can hold around 19,000 spectators.

Barclays Center in Brooklyn

The opening of Barclays Center in 2012 has had a major impact on Brooklyn. The heart of Brooklyn used to be very quiet but has now become a commercial and cultural hub, with many new restaurants, shops and hotels opening in the area. Additionally, the Barclays arena has become a highly sought-after venue for musical artists, drawing them back for repeat performances.

Brooklyn Nets

Barclays Center serves as the Brooklyn Nets arena. All the basketball team’s home games have been played there since the 2012 season. Ever since they started playing at the Barclays Center, the Nets have ensured that Brooklyn is once again seen as a hotspot for sports in New York.

New York Liberty

The women’s basketball team, New York Liberty, also calls the Barclays Center their home. The team plays in the WNBA, the Women’s National Basketball Association. The WNBA takes place in the summer months, while the men play in the winter season, so you always have the chance to attend a basketball game at the Barclays Center!

Concerts at Barclays Center

Barclays Center offers a wide range of entertainment beyond sporting events. The venue also hosts concerts, with artists like Beyoncé, Taylor Swift, and Ed Sheeran having performed there. The Barclays Stadium is known for its excellent acoustics. The use of innovative technology also means the venue can offer a lot of options for many artists.

Barclays Center offers even more than basketball and concerts. Other Barclays events include boxing matches as well as things like Monster Jam and comedy shows.

How to arrive at Barclays Center?

The easiest way to get to the Barclays Center is to take the subway. Several subway stations can be found near Barclays Center. The closest one is Atlantic Av – Barclays Center. You can get here by taking the 2, 3, 4, 5, B, D, N, Q and R lines. From Midtown Manhattan (Times Square), the subway ride takes about 25 minutes.

On the return journey, you can also take the subway. It’s a safe choice as most visitors to Barclays Center use the underground, so you won’t be alone.
