During nearly all festivities, you’ll find most places open, so the impact on your trip will be fairly minimal. Not all national holidays in New York are recognised as official bank holidays, but they are all the same fondly celebrated in the city. It is good to know that very few public holidays affect shops and attractions. The city is open almost every day of the year, making it the perfect travel destination.
