New York Doughnut Shops
You’ll meet your guide at 200 Fifth Avenue, in front of the Golden Clock. From here you’ll head towards your first doughnut at Doughnut Plant. This shop has cushions on the walls in the shape of all the doughnuts they sell. The doughnut you try here will pleasantly surprise you; it was one of the tastiest I have ever had! As you make your way to the next shops on this tour, the guide will tell you about the history and architecture of New York. You’ll pass through Chelsea, walk along Fifth Avenue and into Greenwich Village. This area of Manhattan is full of character and old school New York charm. You won’t find tall skyscrapers or hordes of tourists here. Along the way, you can already start looking forward to the tasty treats that are still to come!
The Best Doughnuts in New York
There are two other doughnut shops to visit before the tour ends at the Doughnut Project in the West Village. At each location, you receive a sample of the shops’ best doughnut(s). You’ll see and taste each shop’s own style, both in terms of the dough and the special kinds of glaze. For example, I tried a croissant-doughnut, a salted caramel chocolate doughnut and an ‘everything donut’ (inspired by the everything bagel) with seeds.
