Vegetarian Restaurants in New York

Vegetarian Restaurants in New York

There is an abundance of vegetarian restaurants in New York. If you are a vegetarian or vegan, you will be happy to know that we are a veggie-friendly city. Most restaurants have vegetarian and vegan options on their menu. So, even if you’re not a vegetarian, get out of your comfort zone just like me and give it a try; it can be delicious! Wondering where to eat vegetarian in NYC? Here’s my list of the best vegetarian restaurants in New York.

  1. The Butcher’s Daughter

Contrary to what the name suggests, The Butcher’s Daughter is an all-vegetarian and dairy-free restaurant. They describe themselves as a “vegetable slaughterhouse” and slow juices are their speciality. Why not try the “Goddess of Green”, a green juice with a twist?

If you are more of a beer person, their selection of craft beers on tap won’t disappoint. Hungry? Choose among a variety of dishes like their famous avocado toast, a selection of “pasta” made with vegetables like courgette or a spicy kale salad, to name a few. They have two locations that fill up quickly during peak hours, but the wait for a table is not usually too long. You can also always book in advance to ensure a table.

sweetgreen in New York is a chain of salad bars that are all over Manhattan. At sweetgreen, you can create your own salad or bowl by combining all kinds of vegetables and other ingredients, and therefore make your meal exactly how you like it.

sweetgreen uses small and mid-size growers who farm sustainably, so getting food at sweetgreen is a very responsible choice as well and well-suited if you are planning a sustainable New York trip.

  5. Pura Vida Miami

Originally, as the name suggests, this chain is from Miami, but now there are several locations in New York as well. The menu is healthy, mostly vegetarian, and I also found it to be very tasty!

From superfood smoothies to wraps and from bowls to salads, those looking for healthy vegetarian food can indulge at Pura Vida Miami in New York. And with the special kids menu, they’re kid-friendly, too.
