Car Rental in New York

If you are planning to drive during your holiday, I recommend arranging your car rental either before or after your stay in New York. Manhattan is congested between 07:30 and 22:30 and parking spots are hard to find. Parking in a parking garage can cost between $30 to $50 per day.

Renting a car in New York
New York City is the most expensive place on the continent to hire a car. A passenger car in economy class can cost about $100 or more per week in comparison to anywhere else in the United States. You can save a lot by renting just outside of the city. Even so, the rental prices there are around 30% higher than elsewhere in the United States.
Car rental at JFK Airport
If you are planning to rent a car in New York and you arrive at JFK Airport, you can pick up your car right here. To get to the car rental companies you need to take the JFK AirTrain to Federal Circle. Both the Howard Beach and Jamaica lines stop here. After you exit the AirTrain you can either walk to your rental company or take the corresponding shuttle bus.
