Joby Aviation: Electric Air Taxi from JFK to Manhattan
The American aviation pioneer Joby Aviation is set to launch electric air taxis between JFK Airport and Manhattan. The flight time is approximately 7 minutes. As the air taxis are fully electric, they offer a quiet way to get an impressive first glimpse of New York. Along the way, you can enjoy the view, all for the price of a luxury taxi.

Electric Air Taxi in New York
The electric air taxi, also known in technical terms as an eVTOL (electric Vertical Take-Off and Landing), is essentially a fully electric helicopter. It takes off and lands just like a normal helicopter. This electric helicopter can accommodate four passengers and the pilot. What makes this type of helicopter so special is the noise: thanks to its electric motors, the helicopter makes no noise.

A Unique Arrival
There are many different ways to get from the airport to Manhattan: by taxi, the JFK AirTrain or a shared shuttle bus. The electric air taxi turns it into a real experience. See the Manhattan skyline, the Statue of Liberty and the famous bridges; all as your first experience of the trip.
It’s a two-in-one: a quick transfer and a helicopter flight.
Practical Information
Joby Aviation does not yet offer electric flights, but you can already book a helicopter transfer. The main differences lie in three key aspects: Joby’s air taxi is significantly quieter, completely emission-free, and the price is expected to be lower than that of a traditional helicopter flight in the long run.
