The NYC Pride March is probably the best-known of all the NYC Pride events. The Pride Parade traverses Fifth Avenue and ends in Greenwich Village. On Christopher Street, it passes Stonewall Inn, which was the site of the Stonewall Riots in 1969.

The protests are considered to be the pinnacle of the events that led to the gay liberation movement and helped to establish LGBTQIA+ rights in the United States. The very next year, the events were inaugurated as the Christopher Street Liberation Day, the starting point for the Pride.
