Transfer from Newark Airport to Long Island City

There are a few options to transfer from Newark Airport to Long Island City. The best option for you depends on the location of your hotel and how many people you travel with. These are the transfer options:

Public transportation

Travelling from Newark to Long Island City is a long journey. Keep in mind that it can take quite some time if you take public transportation. There are several ways to travel as well. You could, for example, take the train or large shuttle bus from Newark to Manhattan, then transfer to the subway, taxi or bus for the journey to Long Island City.

Taxi from Newark to LIC

I wouldn’t recommend taking a taxi at Newark Airport. If you travel from one state to another, airport taxis are allowed to charge you a special, premium price for these interstate drives. Should you take such a cab, expect to pay about $130 to $150.

Private transfer

Personally, I advise you to book a car service with a driver in advance, as this is convenient and in most cases cheaper, and you know the amount (including tips and tolls) upfront.

In case you’re travelling with four or more people, I really recommend using the car service and booking your minivan below.
