With LeBron James playing for the 76ers, it’s well worth attending a basketball match in Philadelphia. The arena is easy to reach from New York. You can view the Philadelphia 76ers’ schedule below and buy tickets for a basketball game straight away.
You can pay for the tickets with a credit card, and you will then receive them by email. These are mobile e-tickets which you open on your phone at the entrance. You cannot print them out, so please ensure your phone is sufficiently charged on the day of the match. Your tickets are guaranteed to be genuine and are always delivered on time.
These tickets are from season ticket holders who cannot attend the match. This is why the prices for an evening of basketball are often lower than you might expect. If the asking price is actually higher than the original ticket price, it’s a sign that demand is high and the arena is almost full. This is particularly likely for 76ers games where LeBron James is playing.

Philadelphia 76ers
LeBron James is the player who has scored the most points ever in the NBA. Philadelphia is the fourth club of his career, and he has announced that it will be his last. So there won’t be many more opportunities to see him play live. For eight seasons, he played for the Los Angeles Lakers, on the other side of the country and rather out of the way for a trip to New York. Now he’s taking to the court just a two-hour drive from Manhattan, making a Sixers match one of the few occasions on which you can experience a player of this calibre first-hand.
The name ‘76ers’ refers to the year 1776, when the Declaration of Independence was signed in Philadelphia. Fans commonly shorten this name to Sixers.
Practical Information
The 76ers play their home matches at the Xfinity Mobile Arena, at 3601 South Broad Street in south Philadelphia.
How do I get to Xfinity Mobile Arena?
The travel time between Manhattan and the arena in Philadelphia is about 1.5 hours. So it is possible to make a day trip to see the Sixers in action, but it is advisable to plan your trip carefully in advance. There are several ways to get there:
Transfer
The most hassle-free option is a transfer that you book in advance. That way, you’ll know exactly how much you’re paying and where and at what time you’ll be picked up, even when it gets busy around the arena afterwards.
For the return trip, I recommend booking your transfer three hours after the start of the match. An NBA game lasts just over two hours, including breaks and timeouts. That way, you can be sure you won’t miss an exciting finish.

With the bus
You can also take the bus from Midtown Manhattan to the centre of Philadelphia. The journey takes about two hours, and this is the cheapest way of travelling. You will, however, be at the mercy of traffic, so make sure you allow plenty of time before the match starts. Bear in mind that the last buses back to New York leave relatively early.

With the train
Amtrak runs directly from Penn Station, via Moynihan Train Hall, to 30th Street Station in Philadelphia. If you book a few weeks in advance, you’ll pay considerably less than if you buy your ticket at the ticket counter on the day.

From 30th Street Station, take the Broad Street Line subway to the terminus, NRG Station, which is a few minutes’ walk from the arena. The journey takes about twenty minutes, and there are extra trains on match days.
