The Charging Bull statue in New York, also known as the Wall Street Bull, is an imposing bronze statue located near Wall Street in Lower Manhattan. The bull statue weighs over 7,000 pounds (3,000 kg) and stands more than 11 feet (3 m) tall. It’s one of the highlights of the Financial District and a must-see if you visit this area.

What is the Bronze Charging Bull?

The Charging Bull of Wall Street was designed by the Italian artist Arturo Di Modica. He originally placed the bull illegally in front of the New York Stock Exchange as an artistic protest and a symbol of hope following the 1987 stock market crash.

The bronze bull statue quickly became popular with New Yorkers and tourists, so the city decided to move it permanently to Bowling Green Park in the Financial District. It still stands there today.
