Radio City Christmas Spectacular
Radio City Christmas Spectacular is, without a doubt, the most spectacular Christmas show in New York. It is an absolute must-see if you are in New York in November, December or early January! World-famous dance troupe; the Rockettes dance, high kick and fall like dominos, dressed as toy soldiers, in perfect synchronicity. Even Father Christmas makes an appearance during this Christmas show for the whole family. Make sure you buy your tickets in good time as this show sells out very quickly.
‘Twas the Night Before… by Cirque du Soleil
‘’Twas the Night Before’ is the first Christmas show from world-famous Cirque du Soleil. The storyline revolves around one little girl experiencing the well known Christmas poem come to life. The acrobats, clowns and other talented artists of the magical circus will be performing their show in the Hulu Theatre at Madison Square Garden.
A Christmas Carol
Christmas just wouldn’t be Christmas without Scrooge. The story of this grumpy miser can, therefore not be left off a Christmas show list. A Christmas Carol will be showing at the Lyceum Theatre, on Broadway. Jacob Marley, the three spirits of Christmas, along with Ebenezer Scrooge himself are sure to provide an abundance of Christmas cheer.
This prize-winning, surrealistic children’s show by renowned Russian clown, Slava Polunin is full of clowns, snow and even a snowstorm. Slava’s Snowshow is not a true Christmas show, but a magical ode to snow and the wintertime. It is, therefore a good recommendation for the festive season.
In November and December, alongside the musicals and plays, you can also enjoy Christmas cheer at the ballet! Each year the renowned New York City Ballet perform The Nutcracker. Little Clara, the fighting gingerbread soldiers, hungry mice and, of course, the life-sized nutcracker are sure to enchant your whole family.
