Hudson Yards in New York is located on the west side of Midtown Manhattan, between 30th and 43rd Street. The majority of Hudson Yards is made up of skyscrapers which are used partly as residential and partly as office space. Several city parks have been created between the buildings, including the famous High Line. In addition, you can find various things to do and see in Hudson Yards!

There are many attractions in Hudson Yards. It is home to one of New York’s observation decks, and the famous High Line Park can be found there. Vessel and other striking constructions also give the area a special character.

Edge Observation Deck

Edge Observation Deck is an impressive observation deck located on the 100th floor of the skyscraper 30 Hudson Yards. Edge Observation Deck is an open-air platform that protrudes from the building at a height of 1130 feet/335 metres, where visitors have an entirely new view of Manhattan. You will be amazed by the views that the slightly tilted windows and the partly transparent floor offer.

City Climb at Edge

Daredevils can do the City Climb at Edge in New York. You’ll climb to the tip of 30 Hudson Yards, which is located above Edge observation deck. During the City Climb, you walk, in harness, via a staircase on the side of the building to a height of 1200 feet/365 metres. At the top, lean over the edge to enjoy views of New York City and the surrounding states. Be prepared to feel that you are on one of the highest spots in the city.

Hudson Yards Vessel

The Vessel is a true eye-catcher, a structure consisting of 154 stairs and 80 platforms, that resembles a beehive. It is located in the heart of Hudson Yards and you can visit it for a fee. Ever since the official opening, Vessel has become a popular attraction and captivates thousands of visitors each day. The building is surrounded by Public Square and Gardens. Find yourself a bench in this city park and enjoy the hustle and bustle of Hudson Yards.

High Line Park

High Line Park, the park on an old elevated train track, is partly located in Hudson Yards. You can end or start your walk here. Walk parallel to 10th Avenue and enjoy the views of the streets of New York and relax on the High Line.

Aside from the various attractions, Hudson Yards is also an excellent place to eat and shop. At The Shops & Restaurants at Hudson Yards, shopaholics can indulge themselves in some retail therapy! This shopping mall is located between 10 Hudson Yards, 30 Hudson Yards and Vessel and has 7 floors with shops and eateries. The Shops & Restaurants at Hudson Yards has a luxurious aesthetic, but there are also high street brands like H&M, UNIQLO and the Banana Republic. Or get something from Shake Shack, or dine at one of the many restaurants.

Mercado Little Spain

Mercado Little Spain can be found under The Shops & Restaurants. At this covered Spanish market with all kinds of different eateries, you will find dishes and snacks like tortillas, empanadas and a selection of Spanish hams and cheeses.

Bagels at Russ & Daughters

For an iconic New York bagel, Russ & Daughters is the place to be. The shop has a few locations in New York, and one of them is in Hudson Yards. The bagel with salmon is a must-try!

Dine and drink with a view

In Hudson Yards, there are several options to enjoy some food and a drink with a view. Head to Electric Lemon, a rooftop bar in Hudson Yards. From the outside bar, you have a unique view of the Vessel. Or take the elevator up to Peak and dine with a view of the entire city.

Hotels in Hudson Yards

Hudson Yards is a relatively small neighbourhood, with many office buildings. There are therefore few accommodation options. There are however hotels in Hudson Yards where you can truly immerse yourself in luxury. For example the Equinox Hotel New York. You will not be able to stay here for less than £700 per night, but you will be treated to ultimate comfort, including filtered air and organic mattresses. Alternatively, book yourself a room at the Pendry Manhattan West for another luxurious experience.

Development of Hudson Yards in New York

Hudson Yards is one of Manhattan’s newer neighbourhoods. The construction of the complex began in late 2012, and the first part opened at the beginning of 2019. Hudson Yards offers all kinds of different sights and activities, all situated close together and easy to reach by subway 7. Thanks to the variety of options, there is something for everyone. Hudson Yards is worth checking out, even if you only need to use the restroom.
