Tina Turner’s life story
International star Tina Turner; born in 1939 as Anna Mae Bullock started her musical career in collaboration with her husband, Ike Turner. It eventually came to light that there had been a lot of domestic violence in her marriage. The couple divorced in 1978. She made her solo come-back in the ’80s, followed by many international hits. The musical, TINA honours Turner’s long and successful career, in which she sold over 180 million records and won 11 Grammys: including a Lifetime Achievement Award. She even set a world record when a staggering 188,000 fans attended one of her concerts. With her huge success, Tina overcame many industry restrictions like age, gender and race. Her farewell tour commenced in 2009, she was 70. The number of shows had to be considerably increased due to such high demand for tickets.
